(Mixtape Review)- @BamnCrew “Brougham Trunk Music: The Mixtape”

To say that “Brougham Trunk Music: The Mixtape”  is for the streets would be an understatement. Club ready production and grimy raps are the standard on this one. Hosted by Dj Pain 1 complete with Coast to Coast drops and produced by O.G.N. the project bangs. Never reaching out of the comfort zone of chasing money (MOB), weed (Reggie Man), or the hood (Stomping Grounds), O.G.N. knew his niche and stuck to it. As sonically enticing as the mixtape is it lacks depth and cohesion. Between the “Intro” and “Outro”  are songs that are slightly scatterbrained.

Without a proper tracklist it’s hard to determine who is who on tracks. Boasting a variety of emcees and differing rhyme styles it would be nice to put the verses to names. Even with this flaw, “Brougham Trunk Music’s” best moments happen when the ladies take over. “Rule The World” is one such example as the hook draws the listener in to the hard hitting verses . “Bang Bang” is a street banger that would get love in any hood and “The Movement” is a strong posse cut.  “Brougham Trunk Music: The Mixtape’s” production is top notch while the rap is just about average.
